The Winter Olympics aren’t the only place one can win a gold medal this week. Carew Papritz and his critically-acclaimed book, The Legacy Letters, won the gold medal for Best Motivational/Inspirational Book from the Prestigious Mom’s Choice Awards!

When he was younger, Carew Papritz tried for the Olympic cross-country ski team. He never realized his gold medal would someday arrive through the strength of his words instead of the power of his skis. Papritz commented, “What a wonderful coincidence to win a gold medal for my book while watching the Winter Olympics that I still love so much.”

His love of both writing and skiing is still evident by his recent book signing at the Barnes & Noble in Flagstaff, Arizona, where he cross-country skied into the store.

MCA judges are bound by a strict code of ethics which ensures expert and objective analysis free from any manufacturer association. The evaluation process is scored on a number of elements including production quality, design, educational value, entertainment value, originality, appeal and cost. Judges perform a thorough analysis and submit a detailed assessment to the MCA Executive Committee for final approval.

Papritz is on a multi-city book signing tour that recently included his riding on horseback to a Barnes & Noble store in Tucson, Arizona, where he become the first-ever author to sign an e-book on horseback. His next book signings will take place in Salt Lake City from Feb 28 to March 2.
