The Legacy Letters — his wife, his children, his final gift (WINNER- Gold Medal- Mom’s Choice Awards) (Hardcover)

“Carew Papritz is a unique man, a man whose concern for the human condition in a time when the ether of the social media have usurped individuality, mixed it into a hackable stew, and shreds it our without concern for privacy, much less individuality. He has and continues to live a life of freedom, creativity and an at oneness with the spirit of celebrating life. Adventure, challenges and achievements are in his well-walked path and in this future plans. Born in Yosemite National Park to a ranger, he has lived in Washington, schooled in England, lived in Norway, NYC, writes two books – 100 Watts: The James Watt Memorial Cartoon Collection in 1983 and Reagancomics: A Cornucopia of Cartoons on Ronald Reagan in 1884 (both best sellers), drives tour buses in Alaska, dips his feet in Hollywood B and A films after graduating UCLA Film School, serves as a freelance journalist and ends up in Arizona where he pens THE LEGACY LETTERS and marries. He now lives in the Pacific Northwest. How this vital human spirit can come up with the idea and the accompanying artwork for so sensitive a book as this makes us realize his importance. Though a novel of sorts, the story is present in such a realistic fashion that it feels like Carew Papritz, though still very young, experienced the main character’s life. The synopsis is a fine start: `A tragedy begins. A husband and wife separate. He’s dying. She doesn’t know. She’s pregnant. He can’t return. Now he races against time–In the solitude of a mountain cabin. In a faraway mountain range. Trying to finish . . .For his children–his captivating stories and memories, turned into practical, moral, and spiritual instructions, now their “guidebook to life.” For his wife–his intimate words of great love and deep regret, now his journey of redemption, now her passage to forgiveness. Ultimately, he gives his final gift to her, to them, and now, to us all.’For starters, the book’s design and choice of paper add to the feeling that we, as readers, are actually in contact with The Legacy Letters. Then our journey begins. In short passages the father of the book relates little letters to his family with the wisdom of what life is really about. Example; `Your Old Man’s Declaration of What’s Important in Life – Your good health, your good name, your true happiness, keeping a compassionate heart and a tolerant mind, believing deeply in whatever you believe in, standing by each other – your mom, your family, and friends, no matter what, laughing as much s possible, fight when you have to, know when you are humbled, live honorably, and with manners and grace, stay curious, dream often – to keep your spirit alive, be generous with your life – love deeply, honestly, and without reservation, know when and how to forgive, take care of your land and your animals, keep your word…’etc.Books of this nature and this quality are rare, Keep it in your library and share it with everyone you love.”
